"Friends of Bocholt" visit anniversary fair
Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff receives guests from the English twin town Rossendale
Eleven guests from the English twin town Rossendale were in Bocholt this weekend for the anniversary fair. The "Friends of Bocholt" were hosted by the German-British Society Bocholt. Both associations celebrate their 40th anniversary next year. They have been making regular visits to each other's twin towns for just as long.
This year, three years after a break due to Corona, there was again a visit from Rossendale. The occasion was the traditional autumn fair on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the town of Bocholt. Normally the meetings of the two associations take place one over the other year.

The chairman of the "Friends of Bocholt", Ros Bill, gave her speech in German. "So much has happened in the last four years: The Covid pandemic, the Ukraine war and ultimately the death of Queen Elizabeth II," she said. That made everyone all the more happy to be back in Bocholt. "We are happy to have you here," said the chairman of the German-British Society Bocholt, Andreas Becker.
