Successful "Women & Business" congress in Bocholt
Over 50 women socialise and discuss business-related topics
The "Women & Business" Congress 2024 has now taken place in Bocholt under the motto "Strategic career development - giving chance a helping hand! Over 50 ambitious women from various industries came together at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences to discuss success strategies, innovation and sustainable corporate management in an inspiring atmosphere.
The City of Bocholt's Equal Opportunities Officer organised the event in cooperation with the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences and the business development agency for the Borken and Steinfurt districts.
Focus on exchange and networking
The congress offered a platform for establishing contacts, or "networking" in new German. They exchanged experiences and discovered valuable cooperation opportunities for the future. The meeting helped them to gain new perspectives and inspiration for their own careers and company development.
High-calibre speakers and inspiring workshops
The event was enriched by keynote speeches and practical workshops. Renowned speakers such as Prof Dr Kerstin Ettl (Westfälische Hochschule), Dr rer. nat. Katharina Kessel (Coach for Body & Balance), Claudia Hoffmann (Coaching and Mentoring) and Andrea Severiens and Karina Holtkamp from the Business Development Agency (WFG) for the Borken district provided in-depth insights and useful tips for professional development.
Successful career planning in challenging times
The congress concluded with a talk round, moderated by WFG consultant Andrea Severiens, in which strategies for career planning and securing skilled labour in turbulent times were discussed. Dr Nadin Dirkmorfeld (Managing Director of ALWA Technische Produkte), Ruth Weber (Group Director People & Culture, Brüninghoff Group) and Christina Bahr (self-employed business psychologist) shared their experiences and tried-and-tested approaches. The participants were given valuable insights and specific recommendations for their professional development. Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to present their ideas in short pitches and continue networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

The next "Women & Business" Congress will take place in 2026.
