Special film screening for "Orange Day
Film "She said" will be shown on 29 November // Joint action with Soroptimist Club Bocholt
The beginnings of gender-based violence are often inconspicuous: what starts with everyday sexism can end in the worst case with the violent death of a woman. On the occasion of the international campaign "Orange The World", the Soroptimist Club Bocholt also wants to draw attention to this important topic together with the Equal Opportunities Officer.
The screening of the film "She said" by German director Maria Schrader is planned for 29 November at 6.30 pm at the Bocholter Kinodrom. (Admission from 6 pm). The film shows the research work of two journalists from the "New York Times" who, after many interviews with affected women, report an investigative article about sexual harassment and abuse by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
The film reports on the journalists' difficulties in gaining the trust of the women and breaking through Hollywood's wall of silence. In the end, however, it is far more than just an exposé - it is the trigger for the global #Me Too movement and encourages women worldwide to stand up against harassment of all kinds.
Soroptimist Germany is once again committed to prevention this year under the motto "Read the Signs" by recognising early warning signs to prevent violence against women.
The Equal Opportunities Officer of the City of Bocholt, Astrid Schupp, and the Soroptimist Club Bocholt with its President Julia Holtkamp-Schlatt would like to set an example and cordially invite you to the film screening.
