Action day: bread roll bags with an important message
Monday 25 November is the International Day against Violence against Women.
On the International Day against Violence against Women, 25 November, the "Gewalt kommt uns nicht in die Tüte" campaign will once again be held in the Borken district. The city of Bocholt is also setting an example: Together with the round table against domestic violence "GewAlternativen" and the equal opportunities officers of the 13 municipalities in the district, 60,000 sandwich bags with important help numbers will be circulated throughout the district.
The bags discreetly provide information about support services such as the nationwide emergency number 116 016 of the "Violence against Women" helpline. An integrated QR code leads directly to the website of the "ViolenceAlternatives" round table, which lists all advice centres and protection facilities in the district.
19 bakeries in the district support the campaign
This year, 19 bakeries are taking part and handing out the bread bags to their customers. This makes the important message against domestic violence visible in everyday life.
Funded by the equal opportunities officers
The costs of the bread roll bags are borne entirely by the initiative of the municipal equal opportunities officers in the Borken district. The bakeries can therefore take part in the campaign free of charge. Due to the high demand, the number of bags was increased to 60,000 this year.
Bocholt also hopes that the campaign will reach many people and encourage those affected to seek help. The city would like to thank the participating bakeries and all those involved for their commitment to combating domestic violence.
