Helping to shape climate protection in Bocholt
Bocholt citizens can submit ideas and suggestions
Protecting the environment and the climate is becoming increasingly important and starts on our own doorstep. The city of Bocholt is now calling on its citizens to submit ideas for more and better climate protection in Bocholt.
"Nothing less than our future is at stake. If we want to live up to the Paris Climate Agreement and contribute to meeting the global 1.5 degree target, we have to do it now and together," says environmental officer Angela Theurich.
Expanding renewable energies, increasing energy efficiency through technology and adapting to climate impacts that are already occurring today and will continue to worsen are of elementary importance for everyone. Theurich: "The city of Bocholt has set out on this path. Currently, various departments of the city administration and external experts are working together to develop suitable approaches and implementations for Bocholt." Since the beginning of the year, support has been provided by the specialist office "Energielenker" (Greven).
Ambitious and at the same time socially accepted goals are needed so that existing opportunities for Bocholt can be used. Open-mindedness, open-mindedness and participation of many, i.e. all citizens, are the "be-all and end-all for success", says Theurich.
Participation via online idea card and questionnaire
There are several ways in which Bocholt citizens can submit their climate protection ideas.
The climate idea map: from 17 July 2023 to 30 August 2023, suggestions with locations can be entered on an online map of the city area.
Would you like to see more drinking water dispensers or new shade islands in Bocholt? Where should these be located?
Would you, in the case of an upcoming renewal of the house heating supply, possibly connect to a local heating network rather than having to look for your own solution?
Do you have any other ideas that you can spatially allocate?
The online questionnaire: In an online survey, citizens can share their views, information and suggestions on the topics of energy, climate protection and adaptation to climate change in Bocholt.
At www.bocholt.de/klimaschutz you can find information and links to the map and the questionnaire.
The classic way: ideas can also be submitted by telephone, in writing or by e-mail. The contact is:
