Next Tuesday, 8 October, the city of Bocholt invites you to the presentation of the first Sustainability Award at the Westfälische Hochschule. The award recognises outstanding contributions to ecological, economic or social sustainability. Three projects - individuals, institutions or associations - will be honoured for their commitment on this evening.
A total of 24 applications were received, from which a seven-member jury selected three projects. The first prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
The event begins at 6 pm at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences (Bocholt campus) with an exhibition of the applicants. The welcoming address by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff at 7 p.m. will be followed by short keynote speeches by Prof Daniela Kattwinkel and Dr Desiree Schulte from the Westfälische Hochschule. The award ceremony is scheduled for 8 pm.
The evening will be accompanied by music from the Bocholt duo Django Flint. After the award ceremony, the city invites you to a drink, which will provide an opportunity for socialising and networking.
Participation in the event is free, and interested citizens are welcome to attend this special evening and get to know the award-winning initiatives.
