VHS lecture: The ABC of bed design
Tips and tricks for creating beds
"ABC of bed design" is the title of a lecture to which the VHS invites you next Tuesday, 12 September, at 7.30 p.m. in the media centre (Alter Bahnhof Bocholt, Hindenburgstr. 5). The speaker will be garden designer Dorothea Steffen. Please register in advance to reserve a place. Remaining tickets are available at the box office on site.
In her lecture, garden designer Dorothea Steffen gives tips and tricks on how to create beds. The basics are looked at, common beginner's mistakes are discussed and the effect of colour is also highlighted. Naturalistic bed design is one of the focal points.
Naturalistic style beds are light and lively, mimicking natural sites and bringing natural magic to the garden. This brings us a little closer to the goal of many garden owners, because who wouldn't want to have a garden that is attractive all year round? Naturalistic plant design is thus an exciting alternative to traditional garden design, and what's more, it is sustainable and good for the environment thanks to site-appropriate, abundant plant selection.
Dorothea Steffen was born with a passion for gardening. For decades she was intensively involved with roses and clematis, as well as with vegetable cultivation during her training in biodynamic agriculture. Today she is a garden designer with a passion. For the past two years she has also been involved in the board of the Gesellschaft der Staudenfreunde e.V. as 1st Vice President.
The fee for the course is 7 euros (reduced rate 6.50 euros). Those interested can register for the lecture via the VHS website.
