On Tuesday, 11 June, the drama "The Innocence", about two missing boys in a Japanese village, will be shown at the Kinodrom Bocholt. The film will be presented as part of the cultural series "The Special Film". The city of Bocholt invites cinema fans and those interested in culture to attend. The film starts at 8 pm and admission costs 6 euros. Holders of the "Kulturpass" have free admission.
Content
The film shows the often far too short path from rumour to accusation. A single mother lives with her son Minato in a Japanese suburb and works as a teacher. In recent years, she has often been harassed and accused by the children, who actually lead a peaceful life. One day, a fight breaks out at school. But what begins as an ordinary argument between children develops into something unexpected - with a series of accusations that lead to social division. The media report. When the children suddenly disappear without a trace one stormy morning, the chaos is perfect.
Director Hirokazu Kore-eda examines the social abysses and the challenges of growing up from three different perspectives. The film lasts 126 minutes.

About the special film campaign
The film series "KINO Bocholt - the special film" has been running since 1977 as a cooperation between the Department of Education and Culture and Kinodrom Bocholt. The aim is to present exceptional films - which would otherwise not be shown in Bocholt - to an interested audience of all ages at a favourable price. Selected films are usually shown every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
