Award-winning Chinese drama on Tuesday, 8 April 2025 at the Kinodrom at 8 pm// Admission 7 euros
As part of the "The Special Film" series, the city of Bocholt is presenting the award-winning Chinese drama "Black Dog - Weggefährten" on Tuesday, 8 April. After an ex-convict returns to his hometown, he develops an extraordinary friendship with a homeless dog.
After spending ten years in prison, Lang returns to his hometown in the Gobi Desert in 2008, which has changed dramatically since then. Desolation spreads through the deserted streets, which are overrun by stray dogs. To make the city more attractive to investors, the authorities want to get rid of the animals - with a particular focus on the dreaded "Black Dog".
Lang joins a dog-catching team, but loses sight of his job as a hunter when he forms an emotional bond with the "Black Dog". He decides to spare the dog and escape together. This decision leads the two of them on an emotional and life-changing journey.
The film screening takes place in cooperation with the German-Chinese Society Bocholt e.V.
The film lasts 110 minutes. The film was directed by Guan Hu, trailers and tickets are available at www.kinodrom.de.
