One of the most influential films of all time
The classic "2001: A Space Odyssey" describes a research trip to Jupiter by five scientists. The reason for the journey is a mysterious black monolith that seems to influence human evolution. The film, which has been nominated for four Oscars, offers plenty of scope for individual interpretations. It deals with existentialism, human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence and the existence of extraterrestrial life. The film became famous for its detailed and realistic depiction of space travel and its special effects, which were groundbreaking for the time. Today, the film is considered a milestone in film history.
Exhibition in the City Museum
In keeping with the film, the traveling exhibition on the theme of "The Adventure of Space" can be experienced in a playful way at the City Museum until April 3. This includes not only the elaborately designed information material, but also the self-experiments with the help of VR glasses, which make outer space virtually tangible.
