Open day at the Bocholt "LernWerk"
New hotspot for culture and education in Bocholt opens its doors // Saturday, 14 September, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. // All offers free of charge
On Saturday, 14 September, the "LernWerk" Bocholt invites you to its open day. In and around the newly opened hotspot for education and culture, a varied supporting programme will provide a range of entertainment and information. From 11 a.m., visitors can experience music, dance, theatre and culinary delights up close - and all activities are free of charge.
All Bocholt citizens and guests of the city are cordially invited to explore the new building of the Department of Culture and Education of the City of Bocholt as well as various cultural associations and the art and culture community in Bocholt next Saturday. The former Herding spinning mill building, a stone contemporary witness from the 19th century, was extensively renovated and converted before it was officially opened on 23 February this year, initially in a small circle.
A colourful programme awaits visitors to the open day, both on the premises of the "LernWerk" and on its grounds. Open lessons at the Bocholt-Isselburg music school will start at 11.15 a.m., during which various instruments will be introduced. From 11.30 a.m., musicians from the music school itself will then present their skills in concerts. The Bocholt youth orchestra and the Jekits choir from the Maria Montessori School will be among those performing.
Shows throughout the grounds
The theatre ensemble "Stadtensemble Münster" will be performing ten short plays lasting around 20 minutes between 1pm and 3pm throughout the building and grounds. If you would like to find out more about the plays in advance, you can find more detailed information at https://stadtlandbuehne.de/der-mensch-ist-eine-insel. Dance enthusiasts will find what they are looking for in the Lernwerk's relaxation room: A hula-hoop and dance yoga course offer opportunities for rhythmic movement.
Writing workshop, bird of prey show, olive oil tasting
For those who prefer quieter activities, the writing workshop organised by the city archives and city museum is the right place to be, using various writing utensils to bring writing to life across the centuries. Animal lovers will get their money's worth at a bird of prey show organised by the Junge Uni Bocholt. For gourmets and foodies, there is also an olive oil tasting and a course on preparing healthy fruit skewers and waffles in the educational kitchen. And the little ones are also catered for: the puppet show "Konrad and Lorenz" will be performed by the Neumond puppet theatre at 2 pm.
Guests can find out about the programme, location and time of the individual events on flyers and posters at the open day. In addition to the numerous offers to watch and take part in, snacks and drinks will also be available. The day of action ends at 4 pm.
