Lecture on "Love"
Thursday, 29 February, 7.30 pm at the "Alte Molkerei" cultural venue // From the "Campus hautnah" series // Sociologist gives a talk
"It is what it is, says love" - this is a well-known verse by the Austrian poet Erich Fried. And what is "love"? This strong feeling of joy that can also cause so much pain at the same time? "Love" is the focus of a lecture by a sociologist, who will be speaking at the "Alte Molkerei" cultural venue on Thursday, 29 February. The event starts at 7.30 pm.
Contents
Dorett Funcke, Professor at the Institute of Sociology at the FernUniversität Hagen and Director of the BürgerUniversität Coesfeld, will shed light on the facets of love from a microsociological perspective. According to Funcke, love is the most complex, demanding and demanding form of communication that people have with other people. In everyday life, it is perceived and romanticised as an emotional phenomenon. The lecture will explain what this means in detail for people who engage in communication and relationships with different people in different situations.
Does it make sense to take a scientific approach to love? What is an eternal subordination and is it still valid today? These and other questions will be addressed and can be discussed afterwards.
Participants should feel invited to explore categories of relationship types and get to the bottom of the disillusionment of love, even if this evening will probably not help with heartache or neighbourhood conflicts...
