Lecture on fear of the future in children and young people
On Monday, 27 February, the City of Bocholt, the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt and the BBV Media Group jointly invite you to the first lecture in the Campus hautnah series. Child and youth psychologist Jana Rathner will talk about fear of the future in children and young people.
Child and youth psychologist Jana Rathner works in a practice in Emmerich and is also a lecturer in psychology at the MTRA School of Münster University Hospital. The venue is the media centre (Alter Bahnhof) at Hindenburgstr. 1 in Bocholt.
Even as adults, we have our challenges in these uncertain times with the issues of recent years: Global Corona pandemic, climate change, war at the gates of the European Union, inflation and now the earthquake in Turkey and Syria! How to cope with life in the face of these existential hardships? When dealing with children and adolescents, the same strategies are not always needed as for adults.
This lecture will focus on how adults can deal with the above-mentioned challenges in a future-oriented way when dealing with (their own) children and adolescents. How can we do this without overburdening ourselves? Among other things, Rathner will draw on the findings of Trilling and Fadel, the so-called "21st Century Skills".
At the end of the lecture there will be time for questions and discussion. Please feel free to bring your concerns!
