"Campus up close": Lecture on the psyche of football
Title: "Discover the psyche of football: A lecture on the game, brain and behaviour" // 7:30 pm at the cultural venue "Alte Molkerei"
Much more than just winning or losing: on Monday, 11 March, sports mentor Robin Gottlob will shed light on the sport of football from a very special perspective. "Discover the psyche of football: a lecture on the game, brain and behaviour" is the title of his talk. The event starts at 7.30 pm at the "Alte Molkerei" cultural centre (Werther Straße). Admission costs 10 euros (advance booking discounted).
Tickets are available from the adult education centre, the Bocholter-Borkener Volksblatt and online at www.vhs-bocholt.de.
"Soccer is more than just a game; it is an expression of our common humanity that builds bridges and brings us together in our joys, struggles and hopes", says Gottlob about the popular sport. Gottlob will document his love of football with a scientific eye, but also in an inspiring and entertaining way.
Does it make sense to take a scientific approach to football? What functions does football fulfil in our society? How can this sport be used as an example for other sports? Gottlob will report on how football promotes mental and physical well-being, strengthens social relationships and serves as a powerful tool for social integration.
