About guest musician Christine Corvisier
Christine Corvisier is a French musician. She started playing the saxophone at the age of 14. She played in several bands and toured Europe with them. She has composed for duos, quartets and even large ensembles. In 2004 she began her studies at the High International Conservatory of Amsterdam. Here she received her "Bachelor of Jazz Music" in 2008. She also had private lessons and masterclasses. While Corvisier played in many different bands, in 2006 she decided to form her own quintet, called CC5 aka "Christine Corvisier 5tet". She composed all the pieces herself.
In 2008, Corvisier won the "Young Talent of Alpes Maritimes" prize, which enabled her to live in New York for two months. Here she studied with renowned jazz musicians. After returning to Germany, she formed a new quintet with some well-known jazz musicians from Cologne. This group quickly made a name for itself beyond the region's borders.
