BOHJazz concert: jazz trombonist Ludwig Nuss as guest soloist

Thursday, 9 January from 8 pm at "LernWerk Bocholt" // Admission free

At the next edition of the concert in the BOHJazz series, German jazz trombonist Ludwig Nuss will be the guest of the trio centred around jazz guitarist Christian Hassenstein. The concert starts at 8 pm at the "LernWerk Bocholt" (Industriestraße 1). Admission is free. Visitors can look forward to unique sounds.

About the guest soloist

Ludwig Nuss studied jazz trombone with Jiggs Whigham in Cologne and graduated with honours. He then worked as a freelance musician in the Cologne studio scene and took part in numerous productions for radio, television and recordings.

As lead trombonist and jazz soloist with the WDR Big Band Cologne and for four years as a member of the SDR Big Band Stuttgart, Nuss has established a firm place for himself on the German and European jazz scene. He performs both as a duo with pianist Michael Abene and with his trio, consisting of John Goldsby and Benyamin Nuss, as well as in quartet and quintet formations. He has also appeared as a sideman on many national and international recordings.

In addition to his work as a bandleader, Ludwig Nuss is intensively involved in promoting young talent. He teaches jazz trombone, leads workshops and was a professor at the Jazz Institute Berlin for a time.

The concert is supported by Stadtsparkasse Bocholt. The ongoing series "BOHJazz" is a music event as part of the city's cultural promotion programme.
