Waste separation with guaranteed laughter and learning effect
Curtain up: Environmental clowns from the Bocholt Senior Theatre come to Bocholt kindergartens
Learning and laughing at the same time: together with the Bocholt senior citizens' theatre "Spätzünder" from the Leben im Alter (LiA) association and Bocholt kindergartens, the city of Bocholt is raising awareness of the environment and sustainable living among its youngest citizens.
With rehearsed scenes and funny interludes, the environmental clowns of the senior theatre slip into different roles. From the correct disposal of dog faeces to waste avoidance and waste sorting - everything revolves around the topic of waste. "The children can become active again and again in the course of the programme", explains Karin Kalka-Freundt from Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB), the proven recipe for success of this campaign. The children enthusiastically sing "waste songs" and eagerly sort waste into a specially constructed "sorting station". They are also given tips on how to avoid waste.
Almost 100 children will be visited by the environmental clowns over the next few weeks. This year's campaign kicks off on 3 May at the AWO kindergarten in the Biemenhorst district, followed by the St. Helena daycare centre (Barlo), the "Ratzeköpper" daycare centre and the daycare centre in the Lowick district.
