Waste disposal: Emptying of glass and paper containers currently restricted
Reason: special vehicle under repair // Do not place waste next to the containers
The Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb (ESB) informs that there are currently considerable restrictions in the use of the depot containers for paper and glass. Reason: The special vehicle of the ESB with a special hook pick-up for the containers is defective and is under repair.
The repair and procurement of spare parts is extremely difficult due to the unusual damage. ESB manager Gisbert Jacobs informs that at the moment it is not foreseeable when the vehicle will be ready for use again. Accordingly, the collection containers cannot be emptied as usual until further notice. Several containers are already overfilled.
To solve the problem, a waste disposal company from Borken makes a vehicle available to the ESB for certain periods. Due to the dimensions of the vehicle, however, only containers for used glass that are easy to access can be emptied. The vehicle is not suitable for emptying paper containers. The ESB is therefore working hard on various solutions.
Waste paper and cardboard
Most Bocholt residents use blue paper garbage cans. All other households are asked to store their waste paper at home or in the garage for a while. Those who urgently need to dispose of paper and cardboard can go to the recycling center.
Waste glass
Here, too, households should ideally hoard their used glass for a while. For prompt disposal, all used glass containers are available that are located on larger streets, e.g., Dinxperloer Straße, Sporker Straße, Werther Straße, Adenauerallee, Schaffeldstraße or on large squares, e.g., Unter den Eichen, Berliner Platz and Welfenstraße (Kaufland parking lot).
Do not place recyclable materials next to the containers
Under no circumstances should materials be placed next to the containers. "It takes a lot of time to first clear the parking spaces before the containers are emptied," explains ESB manager Jacobs. In addition, there would be problems with blown paper waste and with broken glass.
The ESB will inform as soon as all containers can be used again as intended.
