Snow in Bocholt: City on winter duty
Clearance underway // No closures necessary // Changes for waste collection in outdoor areas
There was also heavy snowfall in Bocholt on Friday night. The municipal employees of the waste disposal and service company (ESB) have been on winter duty since the early hours of the morning.
All available vehicles have been clearing Bocholt's roads since 4.20 am. Main roads and access roads did not have to be closed, but farm tracks in outlying areas and residential roads still have to be cleared in some cases, according to the city.
Despite all efforts, it is of course not possible to clear all city streets before the start of rush hour in snowy or icy conditions. For reasons of road safety, refuse collection is also cancelled in the outer districts: the responsible colleagues support the winter road clearance service instead.
The city of Bocholt has announced that the collection of yellow bins, which should have been emptied today, will be rescheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday (26 and 27 November). The collection of paper bins in outdoor areas is also affected: Citizens are asked to dispose of waste paper at the depot container locations or at the recycling centre.
