Fresh turf laid at Bocholter Aasee

Area will be reopened for the swimming season // Sediments had been temporarily stored there

Greening work is currently underway on the bathing bay at Bocholter Aasee. By Friday, a specialist company will have laid around 4,500 square metres of fresh turf on behalf of the city of Bocholt. The purpose of the work is to make the area, where sediment from the Aasee inlet was previously stored temporarily, available to the public again in time for the upcoming bathing season.

The storage area used in the meantime will be available again as a sunbathing and leisure area once the work has been completed. A special fertiliser was used to ensure that the newly laid turf grows quickly and sustainably.

Despite these measures, the area will probably remain fenced off for a further six weeks to ensure optimum growing conditions, according to the city of Bocholt. Only then will citizens be able to use the area again without restriction.
