Bocholt rubbish walk: Big and small are involved!Bocholt invites you to "spring cleaning"
City-wide waste collection from 22 to 5 April // Register now and take part in the "Waste Walk" - for a clean city
The city of Bocholt is once again organising a city-wide rubbish collection. From 22 March to 5 April, the motto is "Dirt away!" in public squares, streets and areas. Clubs, groups and citizens are called upon to take part in the "Waste Walk". The waste advisory service of the waste disposal and service company (ESB) will provide all interested parties with collection packs.
The spring sun motivates us to spring clean. It's not just your own four walls that need cleaning, but also the city and countryside.
This is how "spring cleaning" works
"As many people are drawn out into nature in spring, the commitment to do something for the environment is also high. We support this with the so-called 'spring clean'", explains ESB waste consultant Petra Tacke. Anyone who wants to collect rubbish can take part. The ESB's waste advisory service will be handing out collection packs to interested parties from 18 March. Each collection pack contains gloves, bin bags and a small surprise.
Support from associations
The waste advice centre receives support from numerous Bocholt clubs. The clubs that regularly take part in the "Dirt Away!" campaigns receive large quantities of materials such as gloves and bin bags from the ESB. Around 2,000 participants took part in the "Bocholter Müllwalk" last year.
"It would be nice if we could maintain this number to rid Bocholt of rubbish", wishes waste consultant Tacke. "The commitment of the many participants in Bocholt is enormous. It is collected as 'plogging', i.e. picking up rubbish while jogging, or with children on an adventure walk or during regular dog walks - the ideas are many and varied."
Registration for better planning
Groups, neighbourhoods or clubs with more than ten people are asked to register their participation in advance. This makes it easier to prepare the required materials. Smaller groups and individuals will receive a collection pack from 18 March at the waste advice office at the recycling centre. Registrations can be sent by email to petra.tacke(at)esb.bocholt(dot)de or by calling 02871 953-34 24.
