Santa boot campaign in Bocholt city centre
Around 600 boots were found in the shops on St Nicholas' Day
This afternoon, St Nicholas will once again be out and about in Bocholt's city centre, helping children to find their boots filled with goodies.
St Nicholas with his bulging jute sack has his hands full, because from 2 p.m. many children came with parents, grandparents, friends or acquaintances to the shopping streets of Bocholt's old town to find their boots or shoes, which had been left empty a few days earlier, in the windows of the participating shops.
The children searched for their boots in the shop windows with great enthusiasm and returned to St Nicholas after a successful search to take a souvenir photo at the end. A total of around 600 boots were handed in again this year.
The St Nicholas boot campaign in Bocholt's old town is a popular highlight in the run-up to Christmas and makes children's eyes sparkle every year.
