From 23 April, Bocholt will be in bloom again and the traditional maypole will be erected on the market square in front of the historic town hall. And next Sunday is the first Sunday open for business of the year in Bocholt.

The spring sun is delighting everyone and Bocholt's city centre will also show its colourful face from 23 April, when the maypole will be erected on the market square in front of the historic town hall and red, pink and white geraniums will be hung from almost 200 lanterns, because then it's "Bocholt Blüht" again. "From the end of April to the end of September, the summer flowers will continue to beautify the streetscape of the city centre and provide spring-like eye-catchers", says city marketing employee Maren Weitauer happily. The flowers and pots were ordered from Bocholter Gärtnerei Hoven, while Stadtmarketing Gesellschaft, together with Ewibo GmbH, is responsible for coordinating and hanging the flowers. The traditional maypole is erected by employees of ESB Bocholt, who also prepare it in advance and lovingly decorate its wreath.
