Bands in Town - the Bocholt pub night

Music fans can once again look forward to a traditional event: the Bocholt Pub Night will take place on Tuesday, 30 April 2024. As in the previous year, 12 pubs will be taking part in 2024 and offering their guests a varied programme of music. "Hopefully the weather will play along at the end of April so that the temperatures are pleasant enough to have fun with friends and party through the city", says Tim Becker from Bocholt City Marketing and responsible for "bands in town", looking forward to the popular event.

Proven cooperation
Stadtmarketing Bocholt organises the music night in cooperation with the participating restaurateurs and the local service newspaper Stadt-Kurier. Getränke Westhoff, the Bitburger Group, McDonald's, the Kinodrom and Volksbank Bocholt support the musical pub crawl, so that fans of good live music will get their money's worth.

Different musical genres
The traditional concept of "bands in town" is diversity: from rock to pop to electro, rock'n roll, jazz, blues, hits or covers - every fan will find what they are looking for. "It's all in the mix", says Tim Becker, describing his choice of music and recommending that you let yourself be inspired by the different musical styles. Every visitor is free to choose - but can also spend the evening in just one pub. From 8.00 pm to 1.00 am, everything is live.

Well-known and new bands and pubs
In addition to long-established pubs, new pubs are also taking part this year. The duo "Son Latinos" will be performing in the Tapavino Bar, which is taking part for the first time. Manuel Torres and Victor Castro will present music and poetry from Latin America and Spain. Their music is characterised by cheerful songs, touching ballads, pulsating dance music and an exuberant zest for life. "moodish", a band whose aim is to get people dancing with loud music, will be playing at Streetlife. The concerts focus on the best party songs and interaction between the band and the audience. This year, the duo "Take Two", who are well-known in Bocholt, will be performing rock music milestones from AC/DC to ZZ Top with just guitar and vocals. "Koloss D.U.O." performs again at Rollis Bistro-Café: The band brings hits from the 50s to modern times, ranging from Elvis, Beatles, Stones to Pink Floyd, Supertramp, AC/DC or Ed Sheeran. They are one of the best live bands for shows. The musicians from "Mama Mucke" perform at Björn's Kostbar. With two acoustic guitars, a bass ukulele, a converted cajon and five pointed tongues, the guys from "Mama Mucke" manage to bring the feeling of the 90s and 00s to the stage and share it with the audience. With "Coltplay", a band will be performing at the Freudenhaus that aims to come as close as possible to the British original. The ambition of the four-piece formation goes far beyond simply playing the catchy Coldplay melodies. The band "Django Flint", which has often been engaged by the makers of "bands in town", will perform in the Diebels Fasskeller. For 20 years now, the musicians have stood for the finest handmade music made in Bocholt. The two musicians will be supported by their friend Florian Herda on electric guitar, which promises to be a huge party. With pure joy of playing, honest and handmade groove, "Mälka light" perfectly conveys the Motown feeling. The selected songs such as "Soulman" or "Long train running" get straight to your feet and all in Studio B, so that time will fly by. The location Adana 01 will also be there again, just like in 2023, with the formation "Plug & Play Duo". A band that will inspire the audience with good musical craftsmanship, professional vocals and a lot of charisma and feeling for music. At Spencer's Bistro / Kinodrom, "The High Rollers" will entice their audience with energy and encourage them to dance along with rock'n roll. The music is a snappy mix of rockabilly, country, psychobilly and rock'n roll. In the new location Aber Hallo, the thoroughbred musician "Michael Ulm" will entertain the audience. In addition to his voice, he will also be playing guitar, piano, bass, drums and ukulele.

Aftershow party at the "baccara" club
The "baccara" club opens its doors at 10.00 pm and invites you to the "bands in town" aftershow party with "Goldtunes" from 21. The DJ-Plus band mixes electronic beats with live instruments to create a party atmosphere that is second to none. Tickets can be purchased at the "baccara" box office from 10.00 pm to midnight. After midnight, every guest who can show a "bands in town" wristband is of course admitted free of charge.

Advance sale / raffle / procedure
Tickets cost €13 and are available from Thursday 5 April at all participating pubs, the Kinodrom, the Tourist Information Office, the Stadt-Kurier and Stadtmarketing. Anyone who buys their ticket by 20 April 2024 will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win drinks vouchers. All winners will be announced in the Stadt-Kurier. Last-minute travellers can buy their tickets at the box offices in the participating pubs. The price per ticket will then be €20. The tickets give visitors free entry to all participating pubs.
