Highlight of the Heimat Shoppen anniversary year

To mark the 10th anniversary of Heimat Shoppen NRW, a number of different street artists will be out and about in Bocholt's city centre streets from Thursday, 5 September to Saturday, 7 September, providing varied entertainment. In addition, the Bocholt evening market will take place on 5 September, inviting all visitors to the city centre to enjoy a tasty snack and a glass of wine. Bocholt has been part of the Heimat Shoppen initiative since the beginning and is looking forward to being part of the campaign again this year. "During these days, we want to draw the attention of Bocholt's citizens and visitors to the diversity and potential of Bocholt's city centre. We want them to identify even more with their own home town and see the advantages of "shopping at home"", says Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of Stadtmarketing Bocholt. This week, 10,000 paper shopping bags will therefore also be distributed to retailers and market vendors in Bocholt's city centre, who can hand them out to their customers to draw attention to "Heimat shoppen".

The street theatre activities will run for three days, so that visitors to the city centre can look forward to a special shopping experience on Thursday (3 - 7 pm), Friday (3 - 7 pm) and Saturday (11 am - 3 pm). The jugglers, stilt walkers, musicians, magicians, clowns and all the other street performers can be found on the market square in front of the historic town hall, Neustraße, Neutorplatz, Osterstraße, Nordstraße and in front of and in the shopping arcades. The street theatre thus covers the entire Bocholt city centre and will provide entertainment for all ages.
