Large firs wanted for the Advent and Christmas season

Eye-catcher in Bocholt's city centre with atmospheric lighting

Bocholt. In the middle of summer, planning for the Christmas season in Bocholt's city centre is already underway. Stadtmarketing Bocholt is looking for seven large fir trees that will be lit up from the end of November alongside the Christmas lights or at the Christmas market in the streets to create an atmospheric ambience in Bocholt's city centre.

House and garden owners wanted with large firs | 6-15 m high

Months before Christmas, home and garden owners often get in touch if their tall fir trees have become too big and they are looking for a use for them. In 2023, Stadtmarketing Bocholt will again offer to cut down these large firs (between 6 and 15 m high) free of charge together with the ESB of the City of Bocholt and transport them to the city centre, where they can be placed, for example, at the Christmas market in front of the Historic Town Hall, in front of the Shopping Arcades or on Berliner Platz during the Christmas season. Beautifully grown, not too woody trees are at the top of the wish list. Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of Stadtmarketing Bocholt, explains: "There are no costs for those who want to part with their firs. Only the root of the tree will not be removed and the remaining greenery must also be disposed of by the fir tree owner."

Crane and transporter | Collection campaigns attract onlookers

The collection operations are spectacular, because not only a large crane, but also the corresponding transporters are visual highlights for the frequently encountered onlookers. Some of them don't miss the opportunity to accompany the large trees into the city.

If you would like to hand in your tree, please call 0 28 71 / 29 49 33 - 0 or info(at)bocholt-stadtmarketing(dot)de (Stadtmarketing Bocholt). An appointment will then be made for the tree to be inspected and the collection planned.
