"Bocholt lights up!"

From Wednesday, 20.11. and Thursday, 21.11., the city centre streets and shopping centres will once again shine in Advent light. Employees of the city marketing company and the Bocholt electrical company Rohleder as well as the company Schlatt & Söhne have been busy hanging crystals, over 200 garlands, light frames, comets and 35 street spans with Christmas wreaths in the city centre since the beginning of November. Most of the work has been completed and the large fir trees, as well as the fir trees and groups of fir trees in the city centre, have been put up. This year, the fairy lights will once again be hung in the large trees. This was not done in the last two years, but these large trees also create a great atmosphere.

The newly acquired illuminated animal groups will be visible everywhere - they have been in place since the Sunday of Lights on 3 November. The illuminated animal groups have been attracting visitors for three years now and have been extended again this year. Squirrels, foxes, heather sheep, elk, deer, roe deer and many more can be seen.
The Advent calendar with the numbers from 1-24 will gradually light up in the windows of the historic town hall with 96 illuminated window frames from 1 December.

"The board of the ISG Altstadt and Stadtmarketing have once again worked this year to motivate Bocholt's city centre retailers so that the Christmas lights can be financed", explains Mechtild Hoffs, Chairwoman of the ISG Altstadt. "But the additional contributions from the owner-managed shops for the Christmas lights and the money from sponsors and city marketing are not enough for the extensive Christmas lights" So the city of Bocholt is once again contributing a subsidy.
