Bocholt Christmas market until 22 December
Bocholt shines in Christmas splendour: illuminated 3D figures can be admired everywhere in the streets of the city and the historic town hall shines as a large Advent calendar. And the Bocholt Christmas market will once again attract many visitors to the city centre this year, as the smell of mulled wine fills the air and the festively decorated huts with delicious treats and gift ideas ensure that the Bocholt Christmas market is a cosy meeting place for families and friends.
On the third Sunday in Advent, 15 December, the shops in Bocholt city centre will open their doors from 1-6 p.m. and offer visitors a special shopping experience in a festive atmosphere. In the city centre, on Neutorplatz and in the shopping arcades, visitors can do their Christmas shopping in peace and quiet and be enchanted by the atmospheric ambience. Parking in the entire city centre and in the multi-storey car parks is free of charge on this day. The Bocholt city buses will also run free of charge from 1.00-6.30 p.m. to make it easy for visitors to get to the city centre.
On this 3rd weekend of Advent, Dutch craftsmen will be visiting the market with "Den Olden Tied", who will be demonstrating traditional old crafts such as butter churning and lace making.
From 14 December, the treasure chest will also be waiting in front of the historic town hall - if the lock opens, great prizes await the winner. Keys can be collected when shopping in participating shops in the city centre.
The weekly market takes place until 21 December on Gasthausplatz and in Osterstraße and the evening market takes place on St.-Georg-Platz.
The Christmas market is supported by Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung and Stadtsparkasse Bocholt.
