Proceeds from the book flea market go to Edith Stein Hospice
City of Bocholt hands over donation cheque for 1150 euros to Bocholt hospice
After the big autumn book flea market in the Bocholt City Library, the collected proceeds of 1150 euros have now been handed over to the Bocholt Edith Stein Hospice.
The money was raised as proceeds from the city library's 2024 autumn book flea market. Citizens were able to purchase well-preserved media for small donations.
This year, the money will go to the Edith Stein Hospice: the hospice is located in the immediate vicinity of the primary school and kindergarten, among others, and thus offers people and their relatives a feeling of security "in the midst of life" in the last phase of life.
"With this donation, we not only want to support the Edith-Stein-Hospice, but also send a signal of recognition for the valuable work that is carried out here every day with so much heart and commitment", said Bocholt's First City Councillor Björn Volmering. He symbolically handed over the donation cheque with an amount of 1150 euros to the hospice manager Lukas Tekampe, who then presented his home and the opportunities for encounters.
About the book flea market
The city library regularly organises this event and selects a donation recipient. "We always consider as a team which organisation or campaign we would like to support with the next donation", says Head of Division Isabel Testroet. "It is important to us to be active locally and to bring a little joy with the proceeds", adds Melanie Tenhumberg, Head of the City Library.
