City library: Registration for summer reading club has begun

Borrow media from the library free of charge for six weeks // Numerous workshops and creative activities to do at home // Who will win the SLC-"Oskar"?

Anyone interested can now register for this year's Summer Reading Club (SLC) at Bocholt City Library. The holiday programme is open to all participants, regardless of age, who want to use the library individually or as a team, take part in events and collect stamps.

The registration form and all other information about the Summer Reading Club and the programme can be found on the city library's website, on site or on the SLC page. Registrations for all events and for the Oscar award ceremony are accepted at stadtbibliothek(at)bocholt(dot)de. Further questions can be answered by the City Library team by email or by calling 02871/953 2288. Participation in the SLC and the holiday programme is free of charge.

No summer without the Summer Reading Club (SLC): The free-to-use summer holiday programme, which many users look forward to every year, is an integral part of the city library's offer. For six weeks, all participants can once again borrow media on their own or as a team, take part in exciting events and use the full range of services offered by the city library. "It's great to see how the SLC has developed over the years and is becoming increasingly popular", reports Melanie Tenhumberg from Bocholt City Library.

Be creative, collect stamps and have fun together

Reading fun and creativity are at the centre of the summer reading club with a variety of opportunities to win one of the coveted reading"Oskars": collect the most stamps for books read or listened to, write the best story or make the most beautiful reading box.

But that's not all: the logbook in which the stamps are collected can also be creatively designed. "We always look forward to the logbooks that are returned at the end of the holidays. We have families who turn them into a joint creative project just like the reading boxes", says Claudia Alders from the city library.

Colourful holiday programme with closing party

The team at the city library has put together a varied programme of events that has something for everyone - some things, such as the bookface contest, can also be done from home. The most impressive results will be awarded at the big Oscar ceremony on 14 September, where this year all SLC participants can look forward to an exciting live escape experience with author Jens Baumeister.
