City library organises book flea market again

4-14 October // Entrance hall of the city library // Books and other media available for a donation

During the opening hours of the library, anyone interested can browse in the entrance hall of the municipal library and take media treasures for a donation. This year, the proceeds will go to the Caritasverband für das Dekanat Bocholt e.V. (Caritas Association for the Deanery of Bocholt).

During the autumn holidays, bookworms on a treasure hunt once again have a reason to rejoice: the Bocholt Public Library is once again holding a book flea market for the entire two weeks of the holidays. Always striving to be up to date, the library staff regularly maintain the stock. As a result, a lot of well-preserved books, DVDs, etc. have been collected, which the library team would like to offer to all citizens. All visitors are welcome to rummage through the books in the entrance hall and take home their old books for a donation.

Giving books a new home and doing good at the same time

"The book market is constantly changing, which is why we have to part with some of our media from time to time. But since much of it is still in very good condition, we are of course delighted when much of it finds a new home and at the same time we can do something good with the proceeds," says Melanie Tenhumberg, technical director of the municipal library. This time, novels of various genres, numerous non-fiction books and children's books are up for grabs at the flea market. There will also be some DVDs, audio books and language courses on offer.

Media for a donation

The book flea market is open from 4 to 14 October 2023 during the opening hours of the municipal library. All visitors can choose media against a donation of their choice. The donation can be handed in at the circulation desk of the public library. This year, the proceeds will go to the Caritasverband für das Dekanat Bocholt e.V., especially for in-patient help for children and young people: Project "Locations in the middle of life".
