City library donates to Caritas aid projects
Proceeds from the book flea market go to inpatient help for children and young people
Bocholt City Library handed over a donation cheque to the Caritas Association for the Bocholt Deanery. The amount of 935 euros goes to the inpatient help centre for children and young people for the "Locations in the middle of life" project.
The money was raised by the city library as proceeds from the last book flea market. "The book flea market gives us the opportunity to make media in good condition available for small donations," explains library manager Melanie Tenhumberg. "We make sure that there is something for all interests and tastes so that every visitor to the city library can purchase a little something."
The symbolic donation cheque for the Caritas Association was accepted by Carolin Röring, Head of Inpatient Help for Children and Young People. "Our thanks go to the city library and all Bocholters who have taken up the offer and donated to this good cause. Many of our children and young people regularly visit the city library and have developed into real bookworms. We are happy to accept well-preserved book donations for children for our facilities, so we can make the children happy and promote reading skills at the same time."
"Supporting local facilities is particularly important to us, which is why we are delighted to be able to present the donation to Caritas," emphasises Isabel Testroet. As Head of Division, she is responsible for the city library, among other things. "It's impressive to see how much heart and commitment Caritas puts into helping children and young people in emergency situations and offering them a perspective and a place to go."
