City library donates 1,120 euros for good causes
Bocholt animal shelter and earthquake victims receive support // Proceeds from book flea market
The Bocholt Municipal Library now handed over donations amounting to 1,120 euros to the Bocholt Animal Shelter and to the "Germany Helps" campaign. The proceeds came from the last book flea market.
"The book flea market always offers us the opportunity to provide media in good condition for small donations. We make sure that there is something for everyone, so that every visitor leaves the library with a little something," says Melanie Tenhumberg, professional manager of the municipal library. The willingness of the people of Bocholt to donate was great.
A symbolic cheque for 560 euros went to the "Germany helps" campaign and thus to the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. First city councillor Thomas Waschki is pleased about the generosity of the donors at the book flea market: "Our thanks go to the people of Bocholt who took advantage of the offer and donated in large numbers for a good cause. It's always a nice feeling to bring joy to others and to create opportunities for support together."
The second half of the proceeds will go to the animal shelter in Bocholt, represented by shelter manager Niklas Jägering and 2nd chairwoman Lucia Hünting. "Supporting local institutions is a special concern for us, so we are pleased that we were able to present the donation to the animal shelter. It is impressive to see how much heart and commitment is put into the work at the animal shelter to ensure that the animals are doing well," said Isabel Testroet, Head of Business Division at the City Library, among others.
