The hens Gertrud, Linda, Juanita, Heather, the twins Babsi and Susi and the cockerel Serge just can't find any peace in the evening. Outside they scrub and polish, the farmers decorate the farmyard festively and sing cheerful Christmas carols. Together they clean and decorate the coop, make presents, look after the newly hatched chicks, argue and make up again.
When they have finished, there is a sudden knock at the stable door. A shivering, freezing goose is standing outside asking for shelter. "Such impertinence. There's no knocking at Christmas! " Or maybe there is? The chickens finally find a solution - and in a wonderfully warm, human way...
