Music and action on World Children's Day in Bocholt

Friday, 20 September from 3-6 p.m. at St. Josef-Gymnasium ("Kapu") // Hands-on activities and musical programme // Free admission

To mark this year's World Children's Day, the city of Bocholt is organising an activity day for children and families on 20 September from 3-6pm. On the grounds of St. Josef-Gymnasium ("Kapu", Hemdener Weg) there will be a wide range of activities for children to take part in and watch.

Music and action

There are lots of great stations spread across the grounds, such as exercise and creative activities, a bouncy castle, bungee jumping and a wheel of fortune. Admission is free and all activities are free of charge.

The event will be opened at 3 p.m. by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, the headmaster of St. Josef Gymnasium, Klaus Schepp, and Rosina Giorgio as patron of the Intercultural Week.

Together with various Bocholt institutions and associations, a colourful stage programme was developed, offering a variety of musical highlights for young and old. In addition to the choir of the Bischof-Ketteler-Schule, the Bocholt-Isselburg music school will also be presenting its children's musical.

About World Children's Day

Under the motto of this year's World Children's Day "With children's rights into the future!", the German Children's Fund and UNICEF Germany are calling on the federal, state and local governments as well as society as a whole to make a political and social commitment to a fair and liveable future for young people. On the 70th anniversary of this day, the stakeholders are calling for politicians to focus their priorities more on children. Because every young person is a great opportunity for the future of our society, they say.

The day of action in Bocholt is intended to make its contribution to raising awareness of children's rights.
