Kick-off: New football pitch opened in Barlo

In the Barlo district, a football pitch has been built at the "Große Allee" playground.

The small pitch enables children and young people to play football and be active outside of club sports. The measure was decided at the end of last year on the basis of a political application by the youth welfare committee. 90,000 euros were made available.

The pitch is part of the approximately 9,000 square metre leisure facility in the "Große Allee" area. The area offers play and recreation areas with seating and is a popular meeting place in the town. The 20x13 metre soccer field further enhances the playground.

Many guests were present at the official opening, including Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and First City Councillor and Head of the Sports Department Björn Volmering. The most accurate shooter was determined in a seven-metre shoot-out. Snacks, sweets and drinks were provided.

With this project, the city of Bocholt is making a further contribution to promoting leisure activities for children and young people.
