The new semester programme can now be viewed on the homepage of the Junge Uni in Bocholt at www.juboh.de. Interested children and young people will then have a week to choose courses that match their own interests. Registration for the courses will be open on the homepage from 1 February.
"We have been able to put together a varied programme again this year", reports Jennifer Engels, Head of JUBoh. "We have tried to cover many areas of interest in order to enable a large number of children and young people to participate."
The year will be officially kicked off on 16 February with an event at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences. "At the beginning of this summer semester, we are looking forward to an entertaining event to kick off the year with a show, music and interesting guests", says Engels. Further information on this event and free registration for all interested young researchers aged 6 to 18 can be found on the homepage.
A highlight of the summer semester is the excursion to the "Gasometer" in Oberhausen. The new exhibition "Planet Ocean" will be visited there. This trip is supported by the Fördergesellschaft Westmünsterland der Hochschule in Bocholt/Ahaus e.V..
On 3 May, the JUBoh will travel to the Zwillbrock Biological Station. There they will take a closer look at the fens and its flamingos. This event is organised in cooperation with EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt and is financially supported by the latter. "We are delighted to have so many partners who support our vision and offer children and young people a wide range of discovery opportunities", says Isabel Testroet, Head of the Adult Education Centre, JUNGE UNI and City Library.
In addition to the excursions, there will once again be a range of interesting offers in the fields of maths, science, technology and IT this semester, such as "Who is BOB? - A programming course". Exciting technology courses will take place in cooperation with "Makerspace Bocholt". There will also be something new for animal lovers. For example, animals can be observed at night or at the pond, or ferrets and invertebrates can be examined more closely.
