Emergency island project: training for shops and facilities

Quick help for children in need // Training courses on 10 June

In the event that children and young people find themselves in an emergency situation, there are "emergency islands". These are safe places where children can go if they need help, for example because they have lost their bike keys, missed the bus or feel threatened.

Shops and facilities that are at ground level and easily accessible can become "emergency islands". To ensure that everything runs smoothly, at least two people must always be present during opening hours.

On Monday 10 June at 7pm, the Alliance for Families and the City of Bocholt will be offering a training course for businesses and institutions that want to become emergency island partners. The training will take place in the meeting rooms of the Youth and Family Department (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 77) and will last about an hour. Registration is not required.

In order to become an "Notinsel", it is necessary to attend a training course - a representative of the future "Notinsel" partner must attend. During the training, participants receive all the important information about the project and learn how to behave correctly in an emergency.

Emergency islands can be recognised by a sticker that is clearly visible at the entrance. The city of Bocholt supports this important project.
