The Alliance for Families and the city of Bocholt are offering a training course on Monday, 18 November at 7 p.m. for Bocholt businesses and institutions that want to become "Notinsel" partners. The training also serves as a refresher course for already active "Emergency Island" partners.
The new emergency island website will also be presented there. The training course will take place at the Bocholt Youth Welfare Office (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Str. 77) and will last approximately one hour. Interested parties can register for the event or ask questions at ina.buehs(at)bocholt(dot)de or annette.huenting-deckers(at)bocholt(dot)de.
What are "emergency islands"?
Bocholt is part of the nationwide project "Notinsel". All shops, restaurants and businesses in Bocholt that have the "Notinsel" sign on their door are signalling to children: "Where we are, you are safe". "Notinseln" give children who feel threatened and need help quickly, for example because they have lost their bike keys or missed the bus, a place to go and a refuge where they can get help. Shops, businesses and institutions whose premises are at ground level and easily accessible can become "emergency islands".
One requirement is that at least one representative of the future "Notinsel" partner must attend a training course. During the training, participating shops and companies receive information about the special features of the "Emergency Island" project and learn how they should behave in an emergency.
190 shops and businesses are already participating
In Bocholt, there are already around 190 participating shops, businesses and companies taking part in the "Notinsel" project. More information on the nationwide project can be found at www.notinsel.de.
