Lower Rhine Route
The "NiederRheinroute" leads through a picturesque and varied landscape along fields, forests and the dykes and embankments of the Rhine. The topography is pleasantly flat, so this route can be explored without too much effort. An interesting option is a boat trip down the Rhine on foot, followed by a relaxed cycle tour back to Bocholt via Holland.
The neighbouring towns of Rees, which is considered the oldest town on the Lower Rhine, and Emmerich with its charming Rhine promenade are easy to reach by bike from Bocholt. The first section of the route leads along the Bocholter Aa cycle path in a westerly direction, and from Isselburg the NiederRheinroute leads to the Rhine towns in Bocholt's neighbourhood.
