Hamid has fled Syria and is seeking asylum in France. He has lost his wife and young daughter. He escaped from Assad's Saydnaya torture prison, but had to leave his mother behind in the refugee camp in Beirut.

He becomes a member of the secret Yaqaza cell, an underground network that tracks down fugitive war criminals of the Syrian regime and hands them over to the justice system.

At university, he believes he recognises his former torturer Harfaz in a fellow student, who is notorious as "The Chemist". However, as he can only identify him by his voice and smell, he is left with nothing but his intuition.

As he tries to uncover the truth, the boundaries between memory and present, justice and vigilante justice become blurred.

The film lasts 107 minutes. The film was directed by Jonathan Millet. Trailer and tickets are available at www.kinodrom.de
