Self-help group for the hearing impaired in the Borken district
Exchange of experiences and community of people with (hearing aid / cochlear implant) and without hearing impairment
Our self-help group
- We are a group of young and young-at-heart, hearing-impaired and normally hearing, open-minded people.
- Together we are looking for ways to deal proactively with our hearing impairment.
- We want to live positively as hearing impaired people in a community together with hearing people and also show hearing people how they can communicate successfully with us.
- We welcome all interested visitors, regardless of whether they have good hearing, are hard of hearing, CI users, deaf or deafened!
Our goals
- Gain more self-confidence
- learn to live with the disability
- actively engage with the world of life and work
- Exchange information and experiences
- Learning to make better use of the remaining communication options
- Learning new communication techniques
- Finding a way out of isolation with fun and enjoyment
- Public relations work (events / lectures suitable for the hearing impaired etc.)
- One aim of the self-help group is to equip event rooms with inductive hearing systems / induction loops (T-coil).
