Mamma ante Portas - The Special Film

Charming French mother-daughter comedy// Tuesday 8 August// 8 pm// Kinodrom// 6 euros // Culture pass possible// She has come to stay. What happens when your mother wants to live with you...?

The mother sits on the sofa with a tray of supper on her knees and smiles at the remote control. Next to her on one side is her daughter with folded arms and a slightly resigned look. On the other side sits the son-in-law with an embarrassed smile.

The resolute pensioner Jacqueline actually wants to move in with her friend, neighbour and lover Jean. But there is stress: the workman does not finish, hardly a wall is left untouched, Jean does not want to part with things she has grown fond of and finally calls off the move.

Jacqueline flees her flat. At first she wants to stay with her son Nicolas. But he turns her mother away, he has other problems - his wife has left him.

Jacqueline is forced to live with her eldest daughter Carole and her son-in-law for the time being. The film combines well-timed dialogue wit and misunderstandings into absurd humour.

88 minutes, Director: Èric Lavaine
