All children grow up. All except one ...

One night, Wendy wakes up to loud banging in her room. She discovers Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up and can't remember anything. She is fascinated by his ignorance and arrogance. Wendy follows him, leaves the security of her home and travels to the lost boys in Neverland - to pirates and adventures. Peter wants a "nice, motherly person". But is that what Wendy wants to be? In the end, Peter will need her in his fight against the cruel Captain Hook ...

Learning to fly with Peter Pan is an adaptation of the novel "Peter Pan" by J.M. Barrie. Three actors in 12 different roles, together with a musician and percussionist, tell this story in a fast-paced, entertaining and thought-provoking way. Everyone knows Peter Pan. But only a few know the novel. This book is full of fantasy, humour and wisdom. And - as usual in 1904 - full of clichés.

BrilLe Theatre has delved deep into this original, blown off a little dust and developed a play version that focuses on a universal force: motherliness.
It is a "coming of age" story that can be a guide on the path to adulthood through its symbolic power - an adulthood that does not forget the existence of Neverland and knows about the healing power of motherly love in one's own heart.

The text was written and directed by Britta Lennardt, with assistance from Lilly Lennardt. Tobias Schunk designed the set and costumes.
