Film screening: "She said
Film "She said" will be shown on 29 November // Joint action with Soroptimist Club Bocholt
Bocholt - The beginnings of gender-based violence are often inconspicuous: what starts with everyday sexism can end in the worst case with the violent death of a woman. On the occasion of the international campaign "Orange The World", the Soroptimist Club Bocholt, together with the Equal Opportunities Officer, also wants to draw attention to this important topic.
The screening of the film "She said" by German director Maria Schrader is planned for 29 November at 6 p.m. in the Bocholt Kinodrom. (Admission from 5.30 pm). The film shows the research work of two female journalists of the "New York Times" who, after many interviews with affected women, report an exposé on sexual harassment and abuse by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
The film reports on the difficulties of the journalists to gain the trust of the women and to break through Hollywood's wall of silence. In the end, however, it is much more than just the exposé - it is the trigger for the worldwide #Me Too movement and encourages women worldwide to stand up against harassment of all kinds.
Soroptimist Germany is committed to prevention again this year under the motto "Read the Signs" by recognising early warning signs to prevent violence against women.
The Equal Opportunities Officer of the City of Bocholt, Astrid Schupp, and the Soroptimist Club Bocholt with President Julia Holtkamp-Schlatt would like to set an example and cordially invite you to the film screening.
