Exhibition - "People-Work-Handicap"
Outdoor photo exhibition // Neutorplatz in front of the Stadtsparkasse // 7.2.-28.2.2024
The outdoor photo exhibition "People - Work - Handicap" starts on 7 February at 5.00 pm on Neutorplatz. Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff will open the exhibition at 5.15 pm.
From 7 to 28 February, exciting photographic insights showing people with disabilities in their everyday working lives will be on display. The photo competition, which was organised by the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Health and Welfare Services (BGW), shows with these award-winning photographs how multi-layered inclusion is. The competition took place in times of coronavirus, which makes the award-winning images that were created all the more impressive.
Many of the exhibited works show people with disabilities in their everyday working lives, for example as journalists, educators or neurosurgeons, as photographers or dancers. People with physical, cognitive and mental disabilities were photographed. The 16 award-winning works include everyday reportages as well as portrait series and conceptual contributions.
Further information on the results of the photo competition can be found here.
The exhibition is supported by the City of Bocholt's Department of Culture and Education and Stadtsparkasse Bocholt.
