Michael Zlabinger
The Austrian conductor Michael Zlabinger was born in Vienna in 1984. From 1998 to 2003 he studied organ and church music, then conducting and piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and with Manfred Huss. Further studies followed from 2008 to 2010 in Lucerne with Prof. Ralf Weikert, where he received an award for his diploma concert with Hindemith's Nobilissima Visone. During his studies he also attended master classes with Bernard Haitink and Pierre Boulez. As an ensemble member of the Haydn Sinfonietta Wien, he was also able to acquire an extensive knowledge of the music and performance practice of the Viennese Classical period. In 2022 he was appointed chief conductor of the "festival:philharmonie westfalen".
