Classical podium
as part of the audition week of the music school Bocholt Isselburg
When you sing, you tell stories.
When you sing old songs, you tell stories and remember times gone by.
We often feel that what they expressed back then resonates with us today.
This is how theclassical music podium of Christa Warnke's singing class will tell the story.
Pieces from the Romantic period such as "Gute Nacht" from Winterreise (Schubert), "The Lotus Flower" (Schumann) or the duet "Wie Kann ich froh und lustig sein?" (Mendelssohn-Bartholdy) will be performed. There will also be pieces from the Baroque period, such as "Non posso disperar" by S. de Luca and Handel's "Ombra Mai fu", which will even be sung with the accompaniment of the String Quartet (conductor: Christiane Schröder). The "Prisoners' Chorus" from Nabucco ( Verdi) will bring the concert to a close, sung by the choirs "Singwerkstatt" and "Young Voices".
