BOHJazz concert

Ludwig Nuss, trombone // Skylounge // Admission free

Ludwig Nuss on the trombone in the Skylounge Bocholt.

The trio of jazz guitarist Christian Hassenstein plays every two months in the Skylounge of the Textilwerk in Industriestraße 5, 46395 Bocholt. The German jazz trombonist Ludwig Nuss will be the guest soloist at this concert. The concert starts at 8.00 pm and admission is free. As always, visitors can look forward to unique sounds from this interesting combination with Christian Hassenstein on guitar, Volker Heinze on bass and René Marx on drums.

Ludwig Nuss studied with Jiggs Whigham in Cologne. He completed his concert exam in jazz trombone with honours. Nuss then worked as a freelance musician in the Cologne studio scene and made countless recordings for radio, television and recordings.

In addition to his work as lead trombonist and jazz soloist in the WDR Big Band Cologne, he was a member of the SDR Big Band in Stuttgart for four years. Nuss is also active in many areas of the German and European jazz scene. He gives concerts as a duo with pianist Michael Abene, in his trio with John Goldsby and Benyamin Nuss and with various quartet and quintet formations. He can be heard as a sideman on numerous international and national recordings.

In addition to his work as a bandleader, Nuss is also involved in promoting young talent, both as a trombone teacher for individual students and as a tutor at jazz workshops. For a time, he was professor of jazz trombone at the Jazz Institute Berlin.

The event is a co-operation with the LWL-Museum Textilwerk and is supported by the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt.
