Bocholt Puppet Festival 2023 - Rumpelstiltskin

On Sunday 12 November, children aged 4 and over can look forward to the puppet show "Rumpelstiltskin". The puppet show will take place twice, at 2 pm and 4 pm in the Dietrich Bonhoeffer House. The puppet show will be performed by the Figurentheater Köln.

The play

Kasper is employed as a journeyman at an old mill. There he has to heave the sacks of ground flour onto carts. The old miller keeps urging him to work faster, in a few moments the king comes to collect the fine flour. The miller is impressed by the rich and educated king, but what does an old rubbish have to offer except his beautiful daughter Helene. The miller's daughter would be a good match for the king because, says the old miller, she can spin straw into gold. And so the story takes its course. The beautiful Helene has to prove her art. As she wanders around doubtfully, she meets a little man who has mastered this art. He quickly sits at the spinning wheel and casts the spell:

"Wheel, purl, purl, purl

Spinning wheel surre, surre, surre

Let all straw turn to gold,

all straw to gold."

And no sooner do you think of it than it is done!

Tickets for the puppet show "Rumpelstilzchen" are available at the theatre office (Meckenemstraße 10, 46395 Bocholt). The ticket price is €6.00. With a family pass, children pay only €3.00.
